Understanding the Role of the Church in Christ's Teachings
The Church:
Foundation is Jesus Christ, Son of the living God. Jesus Christ is the chief cornerstone. Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God; And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; Ephesians 2:19-20.
Family:
Christ is the Head. Believers are the body of Christ. The body is one-whether Jew or Greek, slaves or free.
Colossians 2:8-10 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
Galatians 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
Ephesians 4:3-4 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
Function:
Go into all the world. Preach the gospel. Make disciples. Baptize in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Please, refer to Matthew 28:18-20. Teach all things Jesus commanded. Equip or perfecting the saints for the work of the ministry. Edify the saints. Stir up love. Stir up good works. Assemble together. Exhort one another.
Ephesians 4:11-13 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ:
Hebrews 10:24-25 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
Future:
Rapture - Judgment Seat of Christ - Marriage Supper of the Lamb - Millennial Reign - Eternal State
The Church Age was birthed on the Day of Pentecost and will end with the "catching away" - the rapture. No one knows the day or hour except God, the Father. The Day of the Lord shall come as a thief in the night. (Acts 1:7; 1 Thess 5:2) These things says the One, Jesus Christ, who walks in the midst of the golden lampstands - the churches: (Rev. chapters 1-3)
Remember - Repent - Return - Do not fear - Be faithful - Hold fast - Do not deny My faith - Keep My works to the end - Be watchful - Strengthen the things which remain - Keep My commandments - Deny not My name
"He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches"
"I Know Your Works"
I AM the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last. (Rev. 22:13)
