Believers To Be Baptized With The Holy Spirit
Acts 1:4-5 And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, which, He said, you have heard from Me; for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.


Believers To Receive Power By The Holy Spirit To Witness
Acts 1:8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.


Believers Filled With The Holy Spirit And Spoke With Other Tongues
Acts 2:1-4 When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

by the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit
Seals (Ephesians 1:13-14)
Holy Spirit of Promise - the guarantee of our inheritance
Temple (1 Corinthians 6:19)
the body is now the temple of the Holy Spirit - where He dwells
Bears Witness (Romans 8:14-17)
the Holy Spirit bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God
Empowers (Acts 1:8)
believers get power to witness
Teaches, Guides, Reveals, Comforts, Convicts, Glorifies Jesus (John 14-16)


Functions of Believers
is to be continually filled with the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 5:18b)
is not to grieve the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 4:30)
is not to quench the Holy Spirit (1 Thessalonians 5: 19)
is to pray in the Holy Spirit (Jude 1:20)
is to abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit (Romans 15:13)
is to have communion/fellowship with the Holy Spirit (2 Corinthians 13:14)
