The Snowflake

 Little snowflake oh how swiftly you are like a swan. 

How graceful you are like a dancer dancing in the moon light. 

You are as white as a beautiful pale white rose. 

How beautiful you are snowflake.

Donuts

Ingredients:

• ½ c. water
• 1 stick of butter or margarine (1/4 cup)
• 4 Tbsp. sugar
• 2 pkg. dry yeast
• 3-4 C. flour
• 2 eggs, beaten
• Dash of salt
• oil for frying
• 1/2 C. Sugar

Directions:

1. Combine water, butter, and 4 Tbsp. sugar in small pot. 
2. Heat to melt butter. 
3. Cool to lukewarm.
4. Add yeast, 3 c. flour, and beaten eggs. 
5. Knead until smooth, adding more flour if necessary.
6. Cover with damp dish towel and let rise 30 minutes.
7. Punch down. 
8. Divide into portions the size of a golf ball. 
9. Shape into balls, rings, or braids. 
10. Let rise 30 minutes more.
11. Heat 1 c. oil in frying pan. 
12. Fry donuts, turning to brown on all sides. 
13. Remove with slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
14. Put 1/2 C. Sugar in paper bag and shake warm donuts to cover (optional). Serve warm.

Cheese Latkes (Fried Cheese Patties)

CHEESE LATKES (Fried Cheese Patties)

Ingredients: 

• 1 c. ricotta cheese (works best, but any shredded cheese will do)
• 4 eggs
• 3c. flour
• ½ tsp. salt
• Cinnamon and sugar
• 2 Tbsp. margarine or oil for frying

Directions:

1. Put cheese and eggs in bow and mix well.
2. Add flour and salt and mix again.
3. Heat oil or margarine in frying pan over medium heat.
4. Carefully spoon batter by tablespoonfuls into pan. 
5. Fry on one side until pancakes bubble. Turn and fry on second side until brown.
6. Drain on paper towel. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.

Serves 3-4

God's River of Love and Peace

There is a river that flows with love and peace. It flows wide and deep. The river always runs so peacefully; it runs so sweetly. When sadness hits, it washes down the river and up comes happiness and peace. It runs through a peaceful valley with love for us. When we are sad, we come to the river to pray for help. Jesus gives us peace in our hearts. 

There is peace in the valley for all of us. Look around and you can see the peace in the valley. There are birds singing in the trees above the river of love. O' see the boats rocking back and forth on the peaceful river of God, the river of Love and Peace.

Algebra 1

Algebra I is the math course that is typically covered in ninth grade, although some students may complete pre-algebra or geometry. 

Algebra 1 students will cover topics such as:

Overview of the book of 2 Samuel

2nd Samuel

2 Samuel 7:12-13(NKJV)

When your days are fulfilled and you rest with your fathers, I will set up your seed after you, who will come from your body, and I will establish his kingdom. He shall build a house for My name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.

 Author

• The author of the book of 2 Samuel is uncertain. Samuel probably wrote portions of the book. It is possible that Abiathar the priest, Nathan the prophet, and Gad the seer also contributed to this book.

• Between 931 - 722 B.C.

Theme

• King David the forerunner of the Messiah

Purpose

• The book of 2 Samuel describes the history of the forty-year period of David's reign over the nation of Israel. 
• The first portion of the book (chapters 1-4) describes his reign over Judah and the remaining chapters (5-24) his reign over all of Israel. 
• Chapters 1-10 show David's triumphs and chapters 11-24 his troubles.
