Scriptures on Healing

You must first put your faith in Jesus before asking Jesus for healing. These scriptures speak of the work of Jesus for those who have faith. You must also align your will with God's will.

Isaiah 53:5  But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Matthew 8:16-17 When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick: That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.

1 Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Psalms 103:1-5 Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.

Psalms 107:20 He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.

James 5:14-15 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

Mark 16:17-18 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Adam and Eve

The picture shows a river running through a garden with animals drinking the water.

Adam and Eve

On the 6th day of Creation, God created Adam and Eve. They were placed in the Garden of Eden to tend and care for the garden and the animals. They both were innocent. Sin had not yet entered the world.

God had planted a wonderful garden. It was full of all kinds of good plants that produced good things to eat. He also put two interesting trees in the garden.  We can read about this in Genesis 2:9 where it says, "And out of the ground made the Lord God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil."

There were also rivers in the garden.  Genesis 2: 10-14: And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads. The name of the first is Pison: that is it which compasseth the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold; And the gold of that land is good: there is bdellium and the onyx stone.  And the name of the second river is Gihon: the same is it that compasseth the whole land of Ethiopia. And the name of the third river is Hiddekel: that is it which goeth toward the east of Assyria. And the fourth river is Euphrates.

God did not leave Adam and Eve without any rules. At this time, they only had one rule. It was a very simple yet profound rule. This rule can be found in Genesis 2:16-17. And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

God also gave man free will. He did not want man to be like a robot. He wanted to have joyful fellowship. God gave man the power to choice to obey him or to choice disobedience.

Culture vs the Bible

Culture should not be used to determine what the Bible, God's Holy Word says. Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. He does not change. His standards of Holiness do not change.

Scripture must be allowed to say what it says whether we like it or not. My dad asked me a question several times in the years leading up to his death. He had noticed that the churches were changes their rules on dress, music, and many other things. He asked what happened, where they wrong then or are they wrong now. That is a wonderful question that needs an answer. Thankfully we have the answer. All we have to do is look at the Word of God without predetermined ideas. We have to let the Holy Spirit Guide us. John 16:13 says, "Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come."

However, as you are showed Truth by the Holy Spirit, you must stand firm. Culture is a worldly influence that is making great strides at entering the churches. Some rules possibly were wrong or enforced in the wrong way. However, the idea of letting everything slide does not work either. Someone has to stand up and be an example of how to live. Without faithful God-fearing people leading, guiding, teaching, and correcting the people will perish for lack of knowledge. Hosea 4:6

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

What is Modest Dress

Modesty is important. 1 Timothy 2:9-10 says, "In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works."

What is modest apparel is the question that need to be answered.

I want everyone to think about how you have seen people dress. Since everyone has an idea of what they think of as modest, think about what you think of as immodest. Now think about what employers require for appropriate dress at work. Most of us would agree that we don't want to see anyone's butte, breast, or bellies. Night club attire in by definition immodest. Christians are called to be in the world, but not of the world. Following the world's fashion trends is not always modest.

Now go to your own closet. Look at your outfits. Think about the above statements. If they are not modest, look to see if they can be altered or made modest by adding something to the outfit. For example, if the "dress" shows your butte when you bend over try adding the tights under it that is too tight. If the shirt is too short, see if it could be an under shirt to a shirt that is too low. I am aware that clothing cost money. It is not possible to just get a whole new wardrobe overnight. However, it is possible to make adjustments to how we wear the clothes that we already own.

1 Corinthians 11:31-32 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.
Remember everyone whether consciencely or unconsciously judges people by how they are dressed. Think does your dress honor or dishonor God. Jesus Loves you and wants you to follow him in all things. This includes your dress, attitude, actions, and character.
Here are some scriptures to think about.
John 15:18-19 ESV
“If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.

1 John 2:15 ESV
Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

Romans 12:2 ESV
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

1 Peter 2:9 ESV
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
