The Promise of Messiah: Genesis 3:15
I [God] will put enmity [hostility/hatred) between you [serpent/Satan] and the woman [mankind], between your [Satan] seed and her Seed [Messiah/Redeemer]; He [Jesus] shall bruise your [Satan] head, and you shall bruise His [Jesus] heel.

Old Testament Prophecy
  • Isaiah 7:14
    • the Lord Himself will give a sign
    • a virgin shall conceive and bear a Son
    • His nane shall be Immanuel - God with us
  • Isaiah 9:6-7
    • unto us a Child is born - humanity
    • unto us a Son is given– deity
    • His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor Mighty God, Everlasting Father Prince of Peace
  • His government - kingdom/rule 
    • upon His shoulder - authority
    • peace
    • no end- everlasting/forever
    • upon the throne of David - covenant
    • established with judgment and justice
The Lord of Hosts -Jehovah Sabaoth - our Deliverer - will perform this

New Testament Prophecy
  • In remembrance of his mercy...

  • in the fullness of time, God sent forth his Son (Gal 4:4) 
  • Mary brought forth a Son and called Him Jesus (Gospels)
  • the word became flesh and dwelt among us (Jn 1:14)
The Ministry of Jesus

  • I will declare the decree: the Lord has said to Me, You are My Son, today I have begotten You. (Psalm 2:7)
  • But Jesus answered and said to him (John the Baptist), permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness. Then he allowed Him. When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting pon Him. And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, this is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. (Matthew 3:15-17)

  • the Spirit of the Lord God is upon me
  • the Lord has anointed Me
  • to preach the gospel to the poor
  • to heal the broken hearted
  • to proclaim liberty to the captives
  • to open the prison of those who are bound
  • to comfort all who mourn
  • to console those who mourn in Zion
  • to give them beauty for ashes
  • to give the oil of joy for mourning
  • to give the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness
  • recovery of sight to the blind
  • to set at liberty those who are oppressed
  • to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord
1 John 3:8b
  • to destroy the works of the devil
John 3:16-17
  • to bring everlasting life
  • to save the world
1 Peter 1:20; Titus 2:11; 3:4
  • grace, kindness and the love of God our Savior has appeared to all men
